Rita was an accomplished pianist and organist playing for local fundraisers, weddings and Sunday Mass at Santa Maria Catholic Church in Mundelein, IL and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Libertyville, IL.

Rita loved to tend her petunias and lilies outside and she enjoyed keeping violets, spider plants, and other plants alive for years inside. She loved the outdoors – camping, fishing, and hiking in addition to traveling throughout Europe after crossing the sea on an ocean liner.  Rita was known to all for her beautiful smile and good sense of humor.  In addition to enjoying her family, Rita enjoyed socializing with her colleagues from Sprague School and friends from Bible study.

Rita is survived by her four children: Bill Schneider, Tim Schneider, Pattie Hampton (Len), and Doug (Jen) Schneider, eight grandchildren; Jack, Danny, Karlie, & Jimmy Schneider, Lauren Hampton, Micaela, Graham and Madelyn Schneider. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mary Byrnes, four brothers, Henry Parks, Malcolm Parks, Bernard Parks, Francis Parks, and husband Jack.

A wake and visitation will held at Burnette-Dane Funeral Home on Monday, November 26th from 4-7:30pm, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10am November 27th at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Libertyville, IL .
