STEVENS POINT — After 13 years, Robin’s Nest Gifts Owner Debbie Werra will leave her very own nest and has laid plans to close in early 2019.

For over a decade, Robin’s Nest Gifts has offered a unique array of gift-ware, local artwork, a year-round holiday display, jewelry, and more. Customers, both old and new, will be able to cash in on closing deals as Werra plans to wind down her sales beginning with a 20 percent discount for December shoppers.

Doors will close for good in February of 2019.

“I can’t thank my customers and fellow downtown business owners enough,” said Werra. “This experience has been absolutely magical.”

A Stevens Point native, Werra was quick to point out the many friends she has made over the years since opening in June of 2006.

“I feel very fortunate to have been able to do something I have always dreamed of,” said Werra. “But all good things must come to an end.”

Werra takes pride in helping her patrons find the perfect gift, which includes home decor, or garden centerpieces. Many of her product lines are made in the U.S. and support local artists. Werra will take with her a multitude of memories into her retirement, some of her favorite which come during the holiday season. Many times after locking the door on Christmas Eve, she would reflect on the year gone by, only to prepare for the coming year.

Amidst the memories, Werra reflects most on downtown business events such as Discover Downtown, holiday parades, the farmer’s market, and more. She hopes that the future of downtown Stevens Point will continue to grow, and further become a gathering place for the community for locals and visitors alike.

“I would love to see out downtown businesses keep growing, and I think they will,” said Werra. “It’s the center of our city and out community. Visitors to Stevens Point want to go somewhere special — they can find that downtown.”

After closing Robin’s Nest Gifts, Werra plans to enjoy retirement and embrace her next adventure with family and friends.

Robin’s Nest Gifts is located at 1129 Main St.

I’ve so enjoyed discovering this wonderful gift shop. I pass through Point on my way to Neenah every couple months. Debbie is such a kind, warm person. I wish you all the best in your future. God Bless, Debbie.
