STEVENS POINT — A challenger to the District 3 Alderperson seat has announced their candidacy.

Amelia DelGreco will run against Cindy Nebel for 2019 elections, set for April 2.

“I am honored to announce my candidacy to serve on the Stevens Point City Council as the District 3 Alderperson,” said Delgreco. “I’m running because I’m a firm believer that if you want to see change, you have to be a part of it. I think that there are concerns that need addressing. I feel I would bring a new fresh perspective along with common sense to District 3 and city issues”

Amelia is a northern Minnesota native who came to Stevens Point to attend college at UWSP. After she graduated with a degree in Biology, while balancing being an athlete on the swim team, she fell in love with Stevens Point and all it has to offer and chose to stay. She has resided in Stevens Point since 2009 and currently lives with her fiancé and three year old daughter in a home they purchased. She is currently employed with a local insurance company as a Claims Adjustor.

“I love Stevens Point and I love the people in this community,” said DelGreco. “I am a millennial that wants to hear what people really need and ensure all voices are heard from District 3. I will ensure that balanced views are heard from residents of all demographics and backgrounds that encompass our district.”

Amelia will be out knocking on doors in District 3 in the coming weeks to learn more about what her neighbors want and how they want to be represented. You can visit her facebook page at: “Amelia DelGreco for District 3 Alderperson” or contact her via email at: [email protected].
