Officials approve improvements to Willett Ice Arena

STEVENS POINT — Willett Ice Arena will see improvements headed its way soon.
Public Works official approved two projects that will replace the ice system, as well as expand the press box. The ice system replacement will cost no more than $1,564,200, and was awarded to J.H. Findorff & Sons, Inc.
The press box expansion will cost no more than $54,835 and was awarded to Eagle Construction.
Construction is expected to start after the ice show in April and finished before Labor Day.
“I think it’s well overdue,” said District 11 Alder Shaun Morrow. “It’s really nice that the city is able to do this.”
