Gerald (Jerry) Ziolkowski, 67, of Stevens Point passed away peacefully at Portage County Healthcare Center on Friday, December 14th after battling multiple sclerosis for several decades.
A Mass of a Christian Burial will be held for Jerry at 11AM on Wednesday December 19, 2018 at Holy Spirit Parish – 838 Fremont St. Stevens Point, WI. Rev. Steve Brice will officiate. Friends and family may gather to share memories from 9-10:45AM on Wednesday at church. Burial will be at Guardian Angel Cemetery. Shuda Funeral Services is assisting the family.

Jerry was born on July 1st, 1951; the son of Myron and Catherine (Rosenthal) Ziolkowski. He graduated from Pacelli High School and North Central Technical Institute. On May 13, 1972 he married his high school sweetheart, Lynn (Piotrowski), at St Peters Catholic Church. In 1974 they moved to Wabeno, WI where Jerry worked as a lineman for Wisconsin Public Service. In 1981 they relocated back to Stevens Point where he worked in the same capacity until 2000 when deteriorating health forced him to retire.

Throughout his life, Jerry enjoyed riding his motorcycle, deer hunting, fishing, cutting firewood, and cheering at high school football games. He also went on an annual Wyoming hunting trip with friends. As his mobility decreased, Jerry enjoyed watching Westerns and outdoor television programs.
Jerry is a proud father of four children: Traci (Todd) Horn of Portage, WI, Scott (Sarah) of La Crosse, WI, Tammy (Zack) Verch of Reedsburg, WI, and Peter (Kristy) of Milwaukee, WI. Jerry is also the proud grandfather of 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and sister (Karen). In addition to all of his children and grandchildren, Jerry is survived by his wife, sister (Pat), brother (Ron), and mother.
The family would like to thank the staff of Wellington Place, the Portage County Healthcare Center, and Ministry Hospice Services for the years of wonderful care they have provided.
