Daniel Velaire Goulet, age 77, of Stevens Point passed away at home on Sunday, December 23, 2018.

A Celebration of Life Service for Daniel will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Church of the Intercession/Redeemer Lutheran Church – 900 Brilowski Rd, Stevens Point. Friends and family may gather to share memories from 9:00-10:45AM on Thursday at the Church. Military Honors will be at the church after the service. Shuda Funeral Services is assisting the family.

Daniel was born on June 28, 1941, the son of Emmanuel and Leone (Statsmann) Goulet, in Buhl, MN. He attended local schools and graduated high school in Buhl, MN. He continued his education BS from St. John’s University (Collegeville, MN), Masters from St. Louis University (St. Louis, MO) PhD from the University of Houston (Houston, TX). Daniel served as a Captain in the Army until he was honorably discharged 30 June 1972. On August 19, 1964 Daniel married Kathleen Hammers. Daniel was a Professor of Mathematics and Computing at UW Stevens Point for 28 years, retiring in 2008.

Daniel was a Master Gardener, master woodworker, and was involved with Operation Bootstrap. He also was part of the UWSP Blue Line Club and involved with the YMCA Community Gardens.
Daniel is survived by his wife: Kathleen M. Goulet, Stevens Point; son: Dean (Ashley) Goulet, Weston, WI; daughter: Kristine (Anthony) Romain, Madison, WI; 4 grandchildren: Landon Goulet, Robyn Romain, Tyler Romain, and Kathryn Romain.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Manley Goulet.
