Anne G. Schierl was a true community leader and involved with many organizations and programs throughout Portage County. She truly had a passion for the arts and was instrumental in the formation of the Arts and Culture Mission Fund at the Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin, as well as a passionate and dedicated board member and volunteer for the Boys & Girls Club of Portage County. On April 12, 2018, a true community leader was lost when Anne passed away.

Anne was an avid supporter of the arts and really believed that there was a need to further develop arts and culture programs in Portage County. The formation of the Arts & Culture Mission Fund offered grants to organizations growing the impact of arts and culture in Portage County which no other organization was able to provide. Anne was also very dedicated to improving the lives of kids and a committed volunteer and board member at the Boys & Girls Club.

“Because of the impression she left at both organizations, we felt it was important that her memorial gifts benefit both the Boys & Girls Club and the Arts and Culture Mission Fund at the Community Foundation,” said her son, Bill Schierl, Co-CEO Team Schierl Companies.

More than $26,000 in memorial gifts were raised and split between the Boys and Girls Club of Portage County and the Arts & Culture Mission Fund of Portage County at the Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin.

“In doing this, we know her legacy will truly make an everlasting impact in our community for many years to come,” Bill added. “We want to thank everyone who left a gift in her name to support these organizations and our mom’s passion for helping the kids and the arts in our community.”

The Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin is a non-profit organization that provides scholarships, grants and opportunities to make Central Wisconsin a better play to grow, to work, to play and to retire.
