Amherst native and former Amherst High School standout Tyler Biadasz will return to the University of Wisconsin football team for his redshirt junior season next fall, the University of Wisconsin announced Thursday, Jan 3.
Draft eligible as a third-year sophomore, Biadasz recently submitted his named to the NFL’s College Advisory Committee, which advises underclassmen on their draft prospects before they officially declare.
A starter at center for the Badgers the last two seasons, he had until Jan. 14 to decide if he would enter the 2019 NFL Draft.
“I’m seeing what my options are and whether to go, or not to go,” Biadasz told The Portage County Gazette last month. “I’m just taking it all in and seeing what my options are and talking to my family.
“They have a big part in it, and it’s just seeing what’s best for me and my future,” he said.
A First Team All-Big Ten selection this season by both the conference’s coaches and media, Biadasz was the fourth-ranked center on ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr.’s Big Board for the 2019 NFL Draft last month, the top-ranked center by Pro Football Focus (PFF) and the second-ranked center (and 58th player overall) by CBS Sports.
Biadasz was also named the First Team All-American center by Pro Football Focus (PFF) and Honorable Mention All-American by College Football News this season as a redshirt sophomore, and helped the Badgers rush for 333 yards in a 35-3 win over Miami in the Pinstripe Bowl Dec. 27, to finish 8-5 this season.
