Pavelski named to NHL All-Star Game for host Sharks

Plover native Joe Pavelski of the San Jose Sharks was selected to play in the 2019 NHL All-Star Game when rosters were announced Wednesday, Jan. 2.
It will be the third career All-Star appearance for Pavelski, who was one of three Sharks named to the All-Star Game, which will be held at the SAP Center in San Jose Saturday, Jan. 26.
Pavelski is tied for fourth in the NHL this season with 24 goals, while he also has 37 points and 13 assists for the Sharks, who are in third place in the Pacific Division with 51 points (22-13-7).
For the All-Star Game, Pavelski will compete on the Pacific Division team in the four-team, 3-on-3 single-elimination tournament.
The NHL All-Star Skills competition will be held at 8 p.m. Central Friday, Jan. 25, with the All-Star Game set to begin at 7 p.m. Central Jan. 26 and broadcast on NBC.
