Victor Kizewski

Stevens Point native Victor Kizewski won a National Championship for the second year in a row as a member of the North Dakota State University (NDSU) football team.

Top-ranked and defending NCAA Division 1 FCS National Champion North Dakota State (15-0) got out to a 17-3 lead in the second quarter on third-ranked Eastern Washington (12-3) in the NCAA Division 1 FCS National Championship Game at Frisco, Texas, Saturday, Jan. 5, and never trailed on the way to a 38-24 win.

A redshirt sophomore running back/wide receiver, Kizewski did not play in the victory, as NDSU won its FCS-record seventh National Title, with its seventh National Championship in the last eight years.

On the NDSU coaching staff is former University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP) cornerback and Iola native Kody Morgan, who served as the Bison’s cornerbacks coach after he spent the previous two seasons as an offensive quality control assistant.

Kody Morgan

Morgan was a four-year starting cornerback at UWSP for former head coach John Miech from 2008 to 2011, and began his coaching career as a student assistant coach at UWSP in 2012.
