STEVENS POINT — Evergreen Community Initiatives of Portage County received a $1,400 donation from this season’s Christmas tree sales at Country Mission Farm.

Evergreen Community Initiatives are a group of individuals in Stevens Point on a mission to build the community by assisting those in need among us, and encouraging others to get involved.

They run such programs such as The Place of Peace (community meal and food pantry for those in need), Tiff’s Kids Closet (children’s clothing pantry), Smile! For Christ’s Sake (homeless outreach), Tree Huggers (scarf project to keep the homeless and people struggling with poverty warm), Warming Center (winter shelter for the homeless), and Movies In The Park.
