STEVENS POINT — Finance members will hold a closed session tonight to discuss two items that could have large impacts in the Stevens Point community.
First, members will look at the potential future construction of a mixed-use building on 1017 Third St., the former site of Lullaby Furniture.
The development would be completed in two phases, which first includes the construction of two four-story mixed-use buildings on the southside of the property. Second would see construction of a residential building on the northwest side of the property, as well as eleven town-homes. This includes elevator access through different floors. The first phase would see completion by 2020.
Second, finance members will look to seal a deal with TDS Metrocom for an agreement to provide the area with gigabit internet bandwidth speeds.
This would give locals a third option when compared to AT&T and Spectrum. The service would deliver speeds approximately 10 times the rate of the competition. The agreement could also include access to TDS TV and phone services.
The city Finance Meeting will be held tonight at 7PM at the Stevens Point Police Department, 933 Michigan Ave.
