Obituary: Anthony “Tony” “The Bear” G. (Gregory) Zurawski

Anthony “Tony” “The Bear” G. (Gregory) Zurawski

Of 317 McDonald Drive, Stevens Point died late Monday evening, January 14, 2019 at the Aspirus Hospital in Wausau. Age 67 Anthony was born June 23, 1951 in Stevens Point. He was the son of the late Gregory and Shirley (Guldan) Zurawski. He attended local grade schools and Pacelli High School. His marriage to Donna Gurzynski took place on February 14, 1976 as St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. After their marriage the couple settled in the Town of Ellis. His wife Donna survives. Tony owned and operated Ellis Electronics for over 34 years until his semi-retirement in 2010 due to health reasons. Tony enjoyed reading, music and doing his electronics. He also loved political debates with his best friend Jimmy Howan which has gone on for many years. In Lieu of flowers a memorial in Tony’s name will be established at a later dated.

Survivors include his wife Donna, his daughter Carrie (Kevin) Clendening and his precious granddaughter Layla Patraw. Further survived by one brother Dennis (Irene) Zurawski of Stevens Point and three sisters; Kathleen Seehafer of Plover, and Julie Zurawski and Annette (Jerry) Eckendorf both of Stevens Point, also many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews who Tony enjoyed spending time with.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Dale and a nephew Daniel. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M Friday, January 18, 2109 at the Pisarski Funeral Home of Stevens Point. Deacon Vern Linzmeier officiating. Family and friends may call after 9:30 AM Friday morning at the Funeral Home until the time for services.
