Obituary: Mildred M. Karch

Mildred M. Karch, age 94, of Amherst Junction passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Willow Brooke Senior Living in Stevens Point.

A Mass of a Christian Burial for Mildred will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, January 18, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church – Polonia. Rev. Gregory Michaud will officiate. Friends and family may gather to share memories from 10:00-10:45AM on Friday at church. Burial will be at the parish cemetery.

Mildred was born on September 11, 1924 in Chicago, the daughter of Ben and Mary (Piasecki) Kolecki. She attended local schools and graduated high school in Chicago. Mildred worked in retail. During World War II she met Henry Karch through her sister Mary. Henry and Mildred were married in 1951 and lived in the Chicago area until retirement in 1985. After retiring, Mildred and Henry moved into their school house in the Polonia area. They lived there together until moving to Willow Brooke Senior Living in Stevens Point.

Mildred enjoyed cooking, crocheting, and ice fishing with Henry.

She is survived by her 2 sons: John (Denise) Karch, and Henry (Mary) Karch, 2 grandchildren: Matthew and Melissa Karch, her brother Ben Kolecki and sister Mary (Michael) Karch and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother John Kolecki, and 6 sisters Bernice, Josephine, Stephanie, Ann, Helen, and Sylvia.
