STEVENS POINT — In a lighthearted effort to perk up these snowy days, Mayor Mike Wiza has gone “Back Toboggan the Future” in a humorous city video.
The following video was posted on the City of Stevens Point’s Facebook page, along with the following message from Mayor Wiza:
“Our community is changing. Long gone are the days of the local corner market, drugstore, or five and dime. Our philosophy has changed, too. My dinner bell was dusk and every other parent in our neighborhood had the consent of mine to make sure I was behaving. People were respectful to each other, we looked out for each other. It was a time before Social media, cell phones, and video games.”
“Where did it go south? WHEN did it go south?”
“In an attempt to find out, we have been working on a top secret project with some of the most average minds in the world, including our very own “Doc Brown” – Parks Director Tom Schrader. “
“We couldn’t find a DeLorean (budget cuts), but with the help of the students at McKinley School, we were finally able to test our theory at Iverson Park on Tuesday night. We built a toboggan time machine, and we’re going … back to-boggan the future!”
