Q Gallery to Feature Natural Art in Upcoming Show

For the City Times
STEVENS POINT — From March 5 through May 3, Q Gallery Artist Cooperative will present a combined show entitled “Basketry in the 21st Century: Willow, Bark & Fiber” and “Branching Out: Trees in Art”.
These shows will feature the work of basket maker Elise Thornton along with 12 other Q artists who have created pieces inspired by trees.
The gallery reception will be on March 8th from 5-7 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
Elise Thornton uses a wide range of materials to fuse traditional techniques from many cultures with new and evolved designs.
The inside of the gallery will become a tribute to nature and will mark the transition from winter to spring with warm, earthy components infused into art. This show will provide a wonderful space to escape from the harsh cold of winter.
