STEVENS POINT — The Portage County Business Council will host a school board candidates forum on March 8 for the Stevens Point Area Public School District.

The spring election will be held Tuesday, April 2 and three seats on the board are up for election. The top three vote-getters in the election will get three-year terms. The six candidates are: Jeffery Ebel (I), Gee Pope, Barb Portzen (I), Kurt Pulvermacher, Jodi L. Rentfrow, and Ann Vang. (*denotes incumbent)

Each candidate will be allowed opening and closing remarks. Prepared questions for the candidates will be presented by the moderator to ensure specific topics are covered. If time permits, audience members will be able to submit questions for consideration.

The Portage County Business Council will not be endorsing any candidate. We are offering this forum as an opportunity for our members and the public to learn more about thisschool board election, the position and responsibilities, and experience / viewpoints of the candidates.

This will be held from 7:30-9:00 AM at the Portage County Business Council in their Foundation Room. They are located at 5501 Vern Holmes Dr. in Stevens Point.
