Sheriff’s Department offers assistance for those without power

PORTAGE COUNTY — The Portage County Sheriff’s Department and Emergency Management Office are offering assistance to those affected by power outages due to the recent winter storm and extreme temperatures.
In a press release, sheriff’s officials stated that residents without power or heat that need evacuation can contact the sheriff’s office at 715-346-1400.
“We have vehicles that can reach your home to assist you, your family and your pets.”
As many as 4,000 residents throughout the county reportedly lost power during last night’s winter storm.
