STEVENS POINT — After a recount was requested due to the narrow result of the Feb. 19 primary election for District 9 Alder, nothing has differed from the original count.

The canvassing board reconvened to perform a recount and came up with the same results: Polly Dalton leading the way with 107 votes, Mary McComb behind her with 77 votes, and Brian Beaulieu with 76. This means that Dalton and McComb will move on to the April 2 general election for District 9 Alder.

A drawing for placement of names on the ballot was held, and Mary McComb will appear first, and Polly Dalton will appear second. According to City Clerk Paul Piotrowski, Brian Beaulieu has filed the necessary paperwork to run as a registered write-in for April 2.
