Plover VFW Post 10262 Rifle Squad presents ROTC award

PLOVER — Plover Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10262 Rifle Squad awarded a $1000 scholarship, medal, and citation to University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point ROTC Cadet Ryan Eastman at the 50th Annual Army Pointer Company ROTC Military Ball held at Stevens Point Country Club on Saturday, March 9.

Cadet Eastman, currently a senior in the ROTC program, received the Plover VFW Rifle Squad award for an Outstanding Cadet from Plover VFW Judge Advocate Colonel (Ret.) Mike McKenna at the awards ceremony.

Eastman will graduate in May of 2019 with a major in fisheries and water resources and a minor in military science. He has accepted a 3-month position at Fort McCoy in Wisconsin to conduct fish and water surveys. This fall, he will commission in the Army National Guard as an Engineering Officer.

During his spare time he enjoys hunting, fishing, and watching Green Bay Packer games.
