Gazette reporters take home multiple WNA awards

MADISON — Multiple reporters, including sales staff, were recognized at the annual Wisconsin Newspaper Association awards on March 7.
Sports Reporter John Kemmeter took home an award for Best Sports News story on the tragic death of Dylan Heck.
Heck started on Amherst’s State Championship team
Judge’s comments:
“Good quotes, including the victim, that fleshed out a portrait of a young man-lost.”
Kemmeter also took home a third-place award for Best Sports Feature story on the retirement of Rusty Mitch.
Mitch celebrated for coaching career
Editor Joe Bachman took home an award for his story on his coverage of Stanley Street, for General News Story.
