Man in custody after Pizza Ranch robbery

PLOVER — A man is in custody after the armed robbery of a Pizza Ranch on Wednesday night.
According to police reports, at approximately 9PM on April 10, Plover Police was notified of an armed robbery at the Pizza Ranch located at 1300 Commerce Place at the Crossroads Commons in the Village of Plover. Witnesses indicated that a masked man entered the restaurant and demanded money, while threatening an employee with a gun.
The man, now identified as 21-year-old Semaj Amaru Gwyn, fled the restaurant with an undetermined amount of cash on foot. Plover and Stevens Point authorities responded to the scene, and with assistance from Stevens Point Police K9 were able to track the suspect, including recovering evidence along the route.
At approximately at 10:20 p.m., the alleged suspect was taken into custody by law enforcement along Hoover Avenue, just south of Plover Springs Drive. He was booked into the Portage County Jail on charges of Armed Robbery and Theft.
