STEVENS POINT — A favorite annual art show recently gained national attention after making an appearance on CBS Sunday Morning on April 18.
Using footage obtained by Wausau station WSAW, the short clip highlighted the many pieces of art from the “Peeps as Art” exhibit at the Riverfront Arts Center. The exhibit showcases art created out of the popular Easter marshmallow treat Peeps.
“It’s really exciting,” said Riverfront Arts Center Director Rachel Krause. “It’s nice because this is our 20 year anniversary, so it’s a nice gift for us.”
Krause originally wasn’t aware that CBS picked up local coverage of the display, and was happily surprised.
“I was wondering why we had so many people over the holiday weekend.” joked Krause.
The exhibit runs through this weekend, the last day of which will be Sunday, April 28. Riverfront Arts Center is located at 1200 Crosby Ave., right by Pfiffner Park.
