Omernik qualified for state as an individual after he fired a 78 to finish fourth overall at the WIAA Division 2 Mosinee Sectional at Indianhead Golf Course Tuesday, May 28.

Amherst sophomore Eugene Gregorich also competed at the Sectional, and tied for 48th with a 94.

Last season, Omernik tied for 15th at the Division 2 State Meet with a 17-over par 161, after he shot 80 for the opening round and 81 on the second day.

The two-day WIAA Division 2 State Meet is set to begin at noon Monday, June 3, at University Ridge Golf Course in Madison, with the second day scheduled to start at 7 a.m. Tuesday, June 4.
