Pacelli Golfers earn a return trip to WIAA Boy State Golf Tournament

STEVENS POINT — The Pacelli Golf Team secured a trip to the WIAA State Boys Golf Tournament with a 1st place finish at the Crivitz Sectional held at Hunters Glen Golf Club on Tuesday, May 28.

The team posted a four player score of 342. They finished 38 strokes ahead of 2nd place Coleman in the 12 team competition. This will be the third consecutive trip to the State Golf Tournament for the Cardinal.

Senior Trevor Frane fired a even par 72 to lead the team and and earn 1st place individual medalist. Senior Wyat Struble shot a 79 to earn individual 4th place medalist. Senior Zac Schulfer had a 94,Freshman Keller Anderson 97 and Senior Jonah Repinski shot 101.

The Cardinals have had a successful season this year. They are CWC Conference Champions, Regional Champions and Sectional Champions. Trevor Frane earned First Team all Conference honors with a 2nd place finish, Wyat Stuble earned First Team all conference honors with a 5th place finish and Zac Schulfer earned Second Team all Conference with an 8th place finish.

The Cardinals will tee off on Monday, June 3 at University Ridge in Madison for the 36 hole, two day tournament.
