City Band to present second concert of the season

STEVENS POINT — The Stevens Point City Band will present its second concert of the summer season on Wednesday, June 12 at 7:00 PM in the Pfiffner Pioneer Park band shell along the Wisconsin River.
“A Musical Montage” will be the theme as the band, under the direction of Kathryn Kawleski, plays an assortment of music from various genres. Featured numbers will include “ABBA on Broadway”, “Barry Manilow in Concert”, “Atop a Scottish Highland”, “Selections from Aladdin”, “Gallito”, “Big Band Polka” and “Hoagy Carmichael in Concert”. A highlight of the evening will be a performance of Franz von Suppé’s “Light Cavalry Overture”.
Michele’s Restaurant and Catering of Stevens Point will provide food for purchase before and during the concert. Concerts are free and held Wednesday evenings through July 31. Audience members should bring chairs or blankets for seating. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be held in the gymnasium at St. Paul Lutheran Church and School, 1919 Wyatt Ave.
