PORTAGE COUNTY — A local area bank has announced that they have become dementia-friendly.
Portage County Bank has multiple locations across the county at Stevens Point, Plover, Almond and Bancroft. The bank has announced that all branches have completed dementia-friendly business training.
“The purpose of dementia friendly training is to raise awareness of dementia and make the community more accessible for those living with the disease, and their caregivers,” stated Carley Prochaska Lee, Dementia Care Specialist in a press release. “A better understanding of dementia aids in removing the fear, isolation and stigmas associated with the disease.”
