Pool and waterslide opening date TBD

STEVENS POINT — After the announcement of a local pool and waterslide opening this weekend, officials have now pushed that date back.
The Donald Copps Municipal Pool & Waterslide Complex, located behind the Parks and Recreation Department at 2442 Sims Ave. in Goerke Memorial Park, was scheduled to open for the season on Saturday, June 15 (weather permitting*). However, due to a main filter leak, the opening date is now undetermined until it can be repaired.
*The pool closes whenever there is a threat of violent weather, lightning, rain, or if the outdoor temperature is 65 degrees or less.
