STEVENS POINT –City officials approved a move that will send polling locations for the fifth and seventh district from the National Guard Armory to new homes at Monday’s public protection meeting.
District 5 could move to the Community Room inside the Stevens Point Police Department. District 7 could move to the Beloved Community Church, 900 Brilowski Rd.
“The move became necessary because the National Guard Armory is being required to have its doors locked at all times, and makes it difficult to have the building as a polling place with ease of access for voters.” said City Clerk Paul Piotrowski in a statement regarding the move.
This change would become effective with the spring primary on Feb. 18, 2020. Residents will receive notification in the mail of the change in polling locations.
