Walking is for the dogs

STEVENS POINT – Walkers and their four-legged friends gathered at Pfiffner Pioneer Park for the 2019 Walk for Wags on June 9. All proceeds from the annual event help fund the Humane Society of Portage County.
Participants at the 1.5-mile walk enjoyed a pet fashion show, photo booth, and raffle baskets. Artistic canines could even try their paw at painting on canvas at the event’s art booth.
Humane Society of Portage County Executive Director Sherri Galle-Teske attended the walk and was excited to see so many trekkers come out to support the shelter.
“It’s been a great turn out,” said Galle-Teske.
The Walk for Wags event aids the humane society in their mission to care for and provide shelter to animals throughout Portage County.
