STEVENS POINT — Whiting-based establishment Precision Glass and Door have won the Business of the Year award from the Plover Area Business Association (PABA) on Thursday, June 13.

An event was held at the Holiday Inn and Convention Center, which featured speakers Sara Brish from the Stevens Point Area Convention and Visitors Center, Todd Kuckkahn from Portage County Business Council and Dan Mahoney, Plover Village Administrator.

Precision Glass and Door owners Don and Nicole Turzinski were both excited and honored by winning this award.

Precision Glass and Door won Business of the Year from the Plover Area Business Association.

“It’s pretty honorable to have everyone vote for us,” said owner Don Turzinski. “Our employees have worked hard to get this as well.”

PABA has been around since 1979 and acts a social networking association for local business owners to partner with others in the community. According to Executive Director Shannon Finnessy, The Turzinski’s community investment is what stood out from others.

“The one thing that stood out in their application letter was the fact that during the transition with the project going on at Hoover they had the decision to go to Stevens Point or stay in the community — and they opted to stay in the community, and hoped to set a trend for others.” said Finnessy.

“To me, that speaks volumes of how invested they are.” she added.

Even with such an admirable achievement, the Turzinski’s remain humble in their recognition. When asked what he felt helped win them the award, Don Turzinski immediately honored his employees and patrons.

“Our main goal is customer service and price point,” said Turzinski. “We appreciate all of our customers and employees.”
