SPASH softball lands five Unanimous selections to pace area All-Conference teams

The Stevens Point Area Senior High School (SPASH) softball team had five Unanimous First Team All-Wisconsin Valley Conference (WVC) selections, while Pacelli Catholic High School head coach Ann Molski and Amherst High School head coach Dale Jastromski each earned Conference Coach of the Year honors, to lead the area All-Conference teams for softball.

SPASH had five Unanimous First Team All-WVC picks in junior shortstop Leah Earnest, senior third baseman Kayla Lass, sophomore center fielder Jenna Eilers, junior pitcher Jaden Jones, and junior catcher Sam Saloun.

Earnest led the WVC with 18 RBI and eight doubles and finished second with a .474 batting average, Lass hit .342, Eilers batted .390 and led the conference with 18 runs scored, and Saloun was seventh in the conference with a .419 batting average and tied for second with 18 hits and seven doubles, while Jones was 9-1 with a 1.79 ERA in conference play.

Senior designated hitter Berkley Lake (conference-best .500 batting average) was a Second Team All-WVC selection and senior second baseman Megan Miklesh was Honorable Mention All-WVC for the Panthers, who won their 20th consecutive WVC Title this season with a 10-2 record.

Central Wisconsin Conference (CWC) South Champion Pacelli had five First Team All-Conference selections, while Molski was named the CWC South Coach of the Year.

Senior pitcher/third baseman Karah Kluck was a Unanimous First Team All-CWC South selection, while junior pitcher/third baseman Haley Raflik, sophomore second baseman Briar Armatowski, junior catcher/left fielder/shortstop Madi Hintz and senior center fielder Sophie Schroeder were each named First Team All-CWC South.

Sophomore shortstop Sami Miller and senior right fielder Teesa Shafranski were both Second Team All-CWC South for the Cardinals, while senior left fielder Mackenzie Cashin was Honorable Mention All-CWC South for Pacelli, which won the Conference Title with an 11-1 record.

Almond-Bancroft High School junior catcher Makayla Perzinski, senior second baseman Michaela Stucker and freshman pitcher Riley Stiles were each named to the CWC South First Team.

Almond junior shortstop Melissa Perzinski and freshman pitcher Olivia Baumgartner were both Second Team All-CWC South, while sophomore first baseman Chloee Dernbach was Honorable Mention All-CWC South for the Eagles, who finished second in the conference with a 10-2 record.

The Rosholt High School softball team had a pair of All-Conference selections, as senior pitcher Kaila Fletcher was named Second Team All-CWC South and junior center fielder Tara Yach was Honorable Mention All-CWC South, after the Hornets tied for fourth in the conference with a 4-8 record, behind Division 4 State Qualifier Pacelli (11-1), Division 5 ninth-ranked Almond (10-2) and Division 5 State Qualifier Tri-County (9-3).

The Amherst softball team had three First Team All-CWC East selections, while Jastromski was named the CWC East Coach of the Year.

Senior shortstop Grace Moe was a Unanimous First Team All-CWC East selection, while junior pitcher Sydney Lee and sophomore third baseman Nicole Premus were both named First Team All-CWC East for the Falcons.

Freshman first baseman Sydney Jastromski was a Second Team All-CWC East pick, while junior catcher Morgan Gibbs and sophomore left fielder/catcher Ellie Villnow were both Honorable Mention All-CWC East for Amherst, which went 10-2 to finish second in the conference behind Iola-Scandinavia (11-1).
