PLOVER — A Plover woman was fatally wounded on Saturday night after being struck by a vehicle.
According to a Plover police department news release, at 8:18 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, police were dispatched to Copps Grocery store on 1850 Plover Rd. for a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian accident. Upon arrival, law enforcement would find that 72-year-old Plover woman Rose Ann Krueger was walking in the parking lot, and was struck by a 2010 Nissan Titan.
The vehicle was driven by a 50-year-old Stevens Point man. Krueger was taken to Aspirus hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. The driver of the involved vehicle has been fully cooperative and no charges have been filed, according to police.
“This is a tragic accident and our hearts and prayers go out to the entire family. ” said Plover Chief of Police Dan Ault in a press release.
No further information will be release at this time.
Why was the identity of the 50-year old driver that hit and killed a pedestrian in the Plover Copps parking lot never released? The identity of the victim was released very quickly. Unfortunate accident? A person with a 3,000 pound weapon, another person dead and no charges? How about inattentive operation of a motor vehicle? Is there a reason that this drivers identity needs to be withheld?
