The Stevens Point Area Senior High School (SPASH) boys golf team had four golfers named to the 2019 Golf Coaches Association of Wisconsin (GCAW) Boys Golf Academic All-State Team.

Seniors Nolan Blair, Nick Norrgran and Evan Thomas, and sophomore Logan Pechinski each received Academic All-State honors.

Students are nominated by GCAW coaches if they meet the following criteria: 1) A cumulative GPA of at least 3.25, 2) participation in at least 75 percent of their team’s varsity matches, and 3) are a sophomore, junior or senior, and has served as great example to others, proving that athletic and academic success are not mutually exclusive.

A total of 401 students from 125 high schools in Wisconsin were honored this season, with the average GPA 3.747.
