IOLA, — June 1, 2019 — Featuring live music, raffle prizes, smoked pork, and all the fixings, Northland Lutheran Church will host its first ever Smoked Pork Extravaganza on Saturday, June 22, from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM, rain or shine.

The event will open with a brief welcome message by Pastor Dan Somers before attendees are treated to smoked pork ribs and pork shoulders. Church members will provide homemade cornbread, baked potatoes, cole slaw, and dessert.

Tickets are $12.00 for anyone ages 12 and up. Call to reserve (715-445-2956) or purchase at the door. Raffles will be drawn at 1:30 PM, and must be present to win. All proceeds go to the church’s outreach efforts.

Live music will be provided by Praise With Passion. The church is located in rural Northland, nine miles north of Iola on Hwy. 49.

Well-known for its long-running Lutefisk Supper in October, this is the church’s first time hosting an early summer event. “We hope to start a new tradition in addition to our Lutefisk Supper,” said Pastor Dan Somers. “We enjoy reaching out to the community and serving them.”

Since 1908, the Northland Lutheran Church has served members and visitors from its rural location in Northland, Wis.  Its Lutefisk Supper is now in its 102nd year. The church is affiliated with Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC).  Summer church services are held every Sunday at 9:00 AM. The church’s purpose is “To worship God, spread His word, witness for Christ, welcome all, serve them, and grow the community of believers through the power of the Holy Spirit.” Call 715-445-2956 for more information or visit the church at N9880 State Highway 49, Iola, WI 54945 or at Facebook.com/Northland.Lutheran.Church/ or northlandchurchiola.com.
