One dead in Sixth Avenue blaze

STEVENS POINT — A person has died in a tragic garage fire on the 600 block of Sixth Avenue.
At approximately 6:47 p.m., emergency services and law enforcement responded to a house fire at 608 Sixth Avenue. The garage was fully engulfed when emergency personnel arrived.
One person, located within the garage, is deceased, according to police.
This is an ongoing investigation and no further information will be released at this time.
