STEVENS POINT — The 14th Annual Moose Charity Horse Shoes Tournament was held June 2 at the Moose Family Center.
Teams sponsored by Stevens Point Berens-Scribner American Legion Post 6 took first and second place in the contest. The donated their winnings to the Honor Flight. The third place team sponsored by the Moose family Center #1572 donated their winnings to the Portage County Humane Society.
Other teams participating in the event were sponsored by the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 115 and Wisconsin River Lions. Donations were also made by the Hommes Et Chevaux and participants. Additional funds will go to The Wisconsin Home at Mooseheart; a project of the Wisconsin State Moose Association.
Next year’s event will be held on the 1st Sunday in June, June 7th, 2020. This will be the 15thanniversary of the event and special activities will be planned.
