Central Wisconsin Men’s Golf League opens second half

The Central Wisconsin Men’s Golf League opened the second half of its season by battling the heat at Glacier Wood golf course in Iola Wednesday, June 26.

The low gross score was recorded by Charlie Spaar and Keith Ringberg each with a three over par 74. In at 75 were Chris Field and Doug Bruder, while Tom Shafranski carded a 76, Greg Klug a 77, and Jeff Blankschien and Scott Frazier each at 79.

Low net were Blankschien and Spaar at 66, with Klug and Ringberg at 68 and Bruder at 69.

In team competition in the Stricker Division, Midwest Hardware defeated Big Apple Bagels, Big Apple knocked off Rookies Sports Bar, Hilltop Too beat Jordan Bar, and Point After/Cozy Kitchen downed Hacker Backers.

In the Kelly Division, Hilltop Pub & Grill edged Two Harps Pub, Partners Pub beat Backwoods Bar & Grill, and Matero’s downed Badger Heating/Rice’s Paint.

Play continues Wednesday, July 3, at Foxfire Golf Club in Waupaca.
