STEVENS POINT — Public Works officials will decide on a bidder for temporary repairs on Country Club Drive on Monday.
In May, Mayor Mike Wiza announced that the city will partner with the Town of Hull for a much needed reconstruction of Country Club Drive. According to the press release, there is an agreement between the City of Stevens Point and the Town of Hull without an exact date from 1985, that outlines the requirement for maintenance by the Town of Hull and the agreement that the City of Stevens Point would help pay for reconstruction of the road when warranted, in a 70-30 percent split between the City and Town of Hull.
“The road is in terrible shape and at this point it is probably best just to rebuild the road” said Wiza in a May 14 press release. “I’ve had several people contact me about getting something done and I’ve had to refer them to the Township. Bouncing people back and forth isn’t solving the problem. Let’s stop talking about the problem and just fix it.”
The lowest bid would see temporary repairs for the lowest bid not to exceed $57,500, including contingency. You can attend the July 8 Public Works meeting at 6:45 p.m. inside the meeting room at the Stevens Point Police Department, 933 Michigan Ave.
