City Band presents seventh concert of the season

STEVENS POINT — The Stevens Point City Band, under the direction of Kathryn Kawleski, will present its seventh concert of the summer season on Wednesday, July 17 at 7:00 PM in the Pfiffner Pioneer Park band shell.
“Vive La France!” is the theme as the band plays a variety of music celebrating the composers, authors, culture and history of France. Selections will include “Overture to Candide”, “The Song From Moulin Rouge”, “The Music of Cole Porter”, “March From the Coronation of Napoleon”, “Selections from Gigi”, “Big Band Tribute” and the “Ballet Music from Faust”. Richard Fote’s “Qui Vive” concert march will be the music for the weekly children’s march.
Michele’s Restaurant and Catering of Stevens Point will provide food for purchase before and during the concert. Concerts are free and held Wednesday evenings through July 31. Audience members should bring chairs or blankets for seating. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be held in the gymnasium at St. Paul Lutheran Church and School, 1919 Wyatt Avenue, Stevens Point.
