Firefighters to receive pay increase under tentative agreement

STEVENS POINT — City officials passed a tentative agreement that would see local firefighters see a pay bump.
On Monday, Personnel Committee members approved a 2.5 percent raise across the board for 2019-2021 for local firefighters and fire union, IAFF Local 484. The union has already voted to ratify the agreement.
According to Treasurer Corey Ladick, the move amounts to an additional $54,000 for fiscal impact.
“What we had budgeted for 2019, we actually budgeted for two percent across the board adjustment, so the settlement is a little higher than what we had anticipated.” said Ladick. “That’s something for the rest of 2019 the fire department would have to offset in their budget.”
