STEVENS POINT — Public Works officials approved a dollar amount for temporary repairs to Country Club Drive on Monday, July 8.
The approval will take the lowest responsible bidder for these repairs for an amount not to exceed $57,500. In May, Mayor Mike Wiza announced that the city will partner with the Town of Hull for a much needed reconstruction of Country Club Drive.
“This is a temporary repair to get us through the winter,” said Public Works Director Scott Beduhn.
This will serve as a temporary fix until a permanent solution can be engineered next year.
District 1 Alder Tori Jennings expressed her concerns for the move, and explained why she voted “no” in the motion.
“These costs that the city is having to pay for are the direct results of planning around the Hoover overpass, the traffic on there, and a lot of bad decision-making.” said Jennings.
A final vote will come to council next week.
