Habel, Pitt record low scores at Glacier Wood

Another beautiful day greeted The Central Wisconsin Men’s Golf League, as the guys headed to Iola to play Glacier Wood Golf Club Wednesday, July 10.

Low gross honors over the par 71 course went to Tom Habel with a 72. Tom Shafranski carded a 73, while Jim Berg and Keith Ringberg each came in at 76, and Charlie Spaar had 79.

Low net rounds came from Guy Pitt at 65, Shafranski at 68 and Habel at 69, while Ringberg, Rhody Mallick, Bill Lester and Berg were all at 70.

In team competition in the Stricker Division, Midwest Hardware made a big move by scoring 7.5 points, as they beat Hilltop Too and Jordan Bar. Rookies bettered the Hacker Backers, Big Apple Bagels defeated Hacker Backers, and Hilltop Too knocked off Point After/Cozy Kitchen.

In the Kelly Division, Hilltop Pub & Grill beat Backwoods Bar and Grill, Two Harps Pub beat Badger Heating/Rice’s Paint, and Materos downed Partners Pub.

In the standings for the Stricker Division, Midwest Hardware leads by three points over Hilltop Too, while Big Apple Bagels and Rookies Sports Pub are just a half point behind. Next is Point After/Cozy Kitchen, followed by Jordan Bar and Hacker Backers.

In the Kelly Division, Hilltop Pub & Grill is on top with 10.5-points, followed by Two Harps Pub, Materos, Partners Pub, Backwoods Bar & Grill and then the Hacker Backers.

This Wednesday, July 17, the league will be back in Waupaca at Foxfire Golf Club.
