STEVENS POINT — A Milwaukee man faces charges of selling heroin in Portage County.

According to the criminal complaint, 43-year-old Dontrae Henning was the subject of an ongoing investigation into his activity selling heroin across the state. In addition, this includes possession with intent to sell cocaine.

Prior to July 1, a confidential informant met with Henning on four separate occasions in Milwaukee, Stevens Point, and Wisconsin Rapids. On July 1, Henning arranged a sale with an undercover officer and a CI at a business on the 3100 block of Church Street.

Henning was seen exiting the business after the arranged sale, and was taken into custody shortly after. Police would find $500 in pre-recorded cash on him, as well as $1,340. Soon after the arrest, a K-9 unit was brought in to do a perimeter check on Henning’s vehicle, which would uncover a 16.36 grams of heroin in a Crown Royale bag. In total, police would uncover nearly $8,700 worth of heroin in his vehicle.

If convicted, Henning faces up to 55 years imprisonment. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 22.
