STEVENS POINT – An Iron Pour event will be held July 27 at the Stevens Point Sculpture Park. 900 Second St. North, Stevens Point.
A limited number of sand molds will be available for the public carve at the event; those interested in sand carvings should arrive at 2 p.m. The first tap for the Iron Pour will be at 3 p.m. The pieces created and formed during the Iron Pour will be used to build a community-sourced sculpture, known as ‘Impressions of Point: II.’
The project is under the direction of artists Keith Kaziak, Stuart Morris and Mike Godell.
The completed work will debut in the park during the annual “Fall into the Park” event, on Sept. 21, 5-7 p.m., at the Stevens Point Sculpture Park. The Stevens Point Sculpture Park is an independent all-volunteer run park, made possible through donations and grants, both monetary and in-kind.
The Stevens Point Sculpture Park received a grant from the Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin to make the project possible.
