City Band plans final concert of the season

STEVENS POINT — “2019: The Summer in Review” will be the theme when the Stevens Point City Band presents its final concerts of the year on July 30 and 31.
The band, under the direction of Kathryn Kawleski, will perform at 7:00 PM Tuesday, July 30, at the Portage County Health Care Center, 825 Whiting Avenue, Stevens Point, and at 7:00 PM Wednesday, July 31, in the band shell at Pfiffner Pioneer Park.
The final concerts will feature highlights from the summer season, including “Extra! Extra!”, “The Queen of Soul”, “Big Band Polka”, “Dance Fever”, “Merry-Go-Round”, “Jitterbug!”, “Selections From Aladdin” and “The Stars and Stripes Forever”. “National Emblem” by E. E. Bagley will be the music for the weekly children’s march.
Both concerts are free of charge and open to the public. Audience members should bring chairs or blankets for seating. In the event of inclement weather, the Wednesday concert will be held in the gymnasium at St. Paul Lutheran Church and School, 1919 Wyatt Avenue, Stevens Point.
