City announces multiple street closings for utility work

STEVENS POINT — City officials have announced multiple street closings for utility work.
Second Street and Fifth Avenue
The intersection of Second Street and Fifth Avenue will close Tuesday, July 30, 2019 for approximately 3 weeks with a singed detour as crews install new underground utilities. Following installation of utilities, the intersection will open up to traffic and the detour removed.
Second Street is anticipated to be opened to traffic prior to August 20, 2019, however, this closure may be extended in the event adverse field conditions are encountered or adverse weather delays the construction process.
The detour on Fourth Avenue will be removed prior to closing the intersection of Second Street and Fifth Avenue with Fourth Avenue allowing through traffic.
Jefferson Street and Reserve Street
The intersection of Jefferson Street and Reserve Street will close Wednesday, July 31, 2019 for approximately 3 weeks with a singed detour as crews install new underground utilities. Following installation of utilities, the intersection will open up to traffic and the detour removed.
Jefferson Street is anticipated to be opened to traffic prior to August 21, 2019, however, this closure may be extended in the event adverse field conditions are encountered or adverse weather delays the construction process.
