STEVENS POINT — Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Wisconsin will host their 15th annual fundraising event, Taste of the Town at Pfiffner Park on Saturday, Aug. 10.

Wine and beer samplings will begin at 4:30 p.m., with food samplings from 20 local establishments starting at 5 p.m. There will be several new food vendors in attendance this year including Samoeun’s Happy Wok, Watchmen’s Gone, and Dilly Dahl Deli.

In addition, there were be a silent auction and champagne raffle with prizes from Lee Ayers Jewelers, Furniture and Appliance Mart, Holiday Inn, The Green Bay Packers, and many others. Also at the event will be the 3rd annual Rings and Bling bottle toss, in which participants pay $20 for three rings in an attempt to win beer, wine, or liquor in a non-traditional game of ring toss.

Each participant of the Bottle Toss will be entered into a drawing to win the grand prize of a Thomas Dailing Designs Pendant. Live music will be provided by the Northwoodsmen.

Tickets are $45 in advance at www.bigimpact.org  or can be purchased at the Big Brothers Big Sisters office, Bria Bella & Co., Ski’s Meat Market and Lee Ayers Jewelers.

A limited number of tickets will be available at the door for $55. 100 percent of the proceeds from this event support children in Portage County in positive, one-to-one mentoring relationships. Help ignite and defend the potential of our local youth by becoming a Big Brother or Big Sister.

There are currently 70 youth waiting to be matched with a Big in Portage County. For more information, please contact our office at [email protected].
