Man arrested for threatening police is identified

STEVENS POINT- On Aug 3, 2019, at approximately 5:56 p.m., The Stevens Point Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a David C. Tejeda from Stevens Point. The traffic stop was the result of an investigation involving the male subject making specific threats of shooting law enforcement officers.
Tejeda was taken into custody during a traffic stop and arrested on a probation hold. The investigation resulted in the recovery of an AK-47 and ballistic vest, which were found inside his residence.
A criminal history check revealed that Tejeda is currently on probation through the state of Missouri for the unlawful use of a weapon and has been formally charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm.
