Ruth A. Werachowski, 87, of the Town of Stockton, went to join her beloved husband on Aug. 8, 2019 at St. Michaels Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Ruth will be held at 11 a.m. on Aug. 14, at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Church in Custer. Friends and family will gather to share memories on Tuesday at the Plover – Shuda Funeral Home: 2400 Plover Road in Plover, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM. A general rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Visitation will also be from 10 a.m. to the time of services Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at the parish cemetery.
Ruth was born October 16, 1931 in Milwaukee, the daughter of Alex and Edith (Tokarski) Pieczynski. As a child she moved with her family to Stevens Point and Ruth graduated from St Joseph Academy in 1949. She did clerical work at the Portage County P.M.A. and Campbells Store. Ruth married Ronald Werachowski on November 10, 1951 at Forbes Air Force Base in Topeka, KS. The couple settled in the Stevens Point area and raised their family. The couple owned and operated Ronnie’s Bar in Arnott for many years.
Ruth is survived by five children: Judith (Charles) Sankey; Tony (Bonnie) Werachowski; Jeff (Debra) Werachowski; Michele (Walter) Bieniewski; Lisa (Jerome) Firkus. 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Her brother Lawrence Pieczynski, her sister Joan Dreke, her brother-in-law Carl Adamski, her sister-in-law Carol Pieczynski, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ron in 2016, 2 sons: Rick and Mikey, daughter-in-law Marilyn, grandson Eric, brother Donald, and sisters Elaine Wruck and MaryLou Violet.
